Adolescent Therapy

We have extensive experience working with adolescents who are struggling at home, at school, or in everyday life. We also worked with parents who are seeking new parenting strategies to help them connect with their adolescent. If your adolescent is struggling and you are unsure what to do to help, reaching out to a trained therapist can be the best next step. If you have questions or are interested in discussing your child’s unique situation to determine if therapy is for your child, contact us today.

What can we expect?

We will begin with a one-hour intake session where we will discuss the reason the adolescent has come to therapy. If your child is over the age of 14, they can participate in the intake session alone. If your child is under 14, a parent will participate in the one-hour intake session as well.  I will use what we discuss in the intake session to develop a therapeutic trajectory specific to your child.

What areas do you specialize in?

We specialize in many areas relevant to adolescents, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Adjustment and Mood Disorders

  • Transitioning to College

  • Divorce-Related Issues

  • Depression

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • Emerging Adulthood Issues (i.e. life post-college)

  • And more…

My spouse and I have a very contentious relationship, can you still work with our child?

We specialize in high-conflict cases and can help if you are going through a contentious divorce and would like a neutral party to help your teen navigate the divorce. It can be difficult for adolescents to understand how to exist in two family systems that create different messages, boundaries, morals, and values. Our work together will help your teen develop a constructive method for thriving in both homes.
